January Meeting: K. Jentz - "Trees and
Shrubs for the Small Garden"
Ring in another year of informative gardening topics by attending the Beltsville Garden Club meeting on, Wednesday, January 28th 2009 at 7:30pm in the Cafeteria of the James E. Duckworth School, 11201 Evan Trail, Beltsville, Maryland.
Our speaker for this month will be Kathy Jentz, editor and publisher of the Washington Gardener Magazine. Her topic will be "Small Trees and Large Shrubs for Urban Yards". Come listen to Kathy as she explores the possibilities of using small trees and large shrubs to plant in small urban lots. Tailored to what grows best in the greater DC region, the choices will cover natives, edibles, and ornamentals for full sun to full shade.
You will find that in every garden there is a tree that is a perfect fit, even if you only have a few pots in which to plant trees. It can be part of your urban life.
You can read Kathy's work in the Washington Examiner and Washington Women in addition to regular guest spots on Channel 9, Channel 4 and WAMU radio.
Please join us for this informative speaker. We will have plants for the door prize table and refreshments after the meeting. The public is welcomed and admission is free.
